Description
1909 Hook and Ladder. This hand-drawn hook and ladder apparatus was purchased in Rockway, New jersey, shortly after Lakeview Fire Department was formed. Upon purchasing the apparatus, it was shipped to Rockville Center, then horse-drawn to Lakeview.
This hook and ladder was used by Lakeview Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 until the 1930's when it was replaced by a motorized hook and ladder apparatus. The old hand-drawn truck was donated to the the Museum in 1975.
On display at the FASNY Museum in Hudson, New York.
