Description
1821 Eagle Engine #13 Hand Pumper built by James Smith. Used by the volunteer firemen of Mew York City as Eagle Engine #13, this hand pumper was sold in 1840 to Phoenix Engine #1 of Plattsburg, New York. It was later donated to the Firemen's Home for the protection of life and property on the grounds of the home.
The back panel originally had an eagle painted on it, which was eventually replaced with another panel depicting an elk in a forest, painted by John Burgum.
On display at the FASNY Museum in Hudson, New York.
